Last night, I brought in a 30th Birthday Celebration with some of the crazies (LOL), for Shalanda Ingram! In home massages, cupcakes, and lots of love, laughter and celebration. We should have known however, that a surprise for Ms. Ingram would be a doozie. Getting her there on-time, our biggest challenge we would face. We had faith (oh, ye of little faith), but that dwindled when we received a text- ”I’m running late.” This really meant, “I need a ride.” So, with our massage therapist prepping for the evening, I left out with my Snuggie-Robe, and up Route 1 I went.

We returned and the massages were underway, and the surprise semi out the window. I remembered quickly; however, yelling “SURPRISE, was not that important, but a night with family & friends was. That 45 minute ride (to & from) Shalanda’s became just a quick ride before relaxation, conversation, and celebration.

So, if you’re planning a surprise event, I get the importance of keeping it a surprise. Buttttttttttt, the celebration of the honoree, let that be what drives you. It won’t matter to him/her anyway. What matters are the memories, and the thought behind your loved ones planning an event just for YOU!

In my world of surprises, it looks like the series is at 1-1. Click SURPRISE, for one gone well!

Bowling at North Bowl Lanes in Northern Liberties, with an 80′s Flare- Oh what FUN!

The night was filled with friends, family, leopard print and 80′s!

It was a blast planning this event, for more reasons than one, but most importantly it was a blast to see that ChaDerria had a great time!

Dressing up in the 80′s, eating 80′s candy (Pop Rocks), rubix cubes and jamming to the likes of MJ, Berlin and more was all a Sweet 16 should be about.

I was happy to tell my client that we were going from one side of the Loft, to having the entire Loft to ourselves.  You see, it was what my client desired, and with a malfunction of a lane she was granted her wish.  So, what was supposed to be a night of bowling only, turned into a night of pool, ice hockey, video games and more!!!!!

I love what I do!  Yet, more importantly I love that my clients walk away with memories that last a lifetime.

It was an honor to Celebrate Simply ChaDerria, for she is one little lady I wish more and more birthday celebrations, where she knows she is to be celebrated!

Thanks Charon for giving me the opportunity to help you Celebrate your Derr!  It was an honor and I look forward to the next event ( ;-) My Baby Chayla)!!!!!

While my Facebook and Twitter pages have been filled with most things I’ve been part of, there is definitely a lot happening behind the scenes for Simply Z Events (SZE). And, the time has come where I would like to (formerly) introduce you to Simply Z Events…

WHO I am, WHAT I do, and WHY I do it!

With an updated logo, a revamped website and most importantly a launch event, I hope to invite you in on the journey, of the girl called- Simply Z.

The journey begins on December 1st with the launch of IAmSimplyZ.com.  The official blog of the girl behind events, blogging and mentoring; followed by updates on the launch event, happening December 29, 2012. So, head over to iamsimplyz.com and sign up to receive those updates COMING SOON!

While you do that, I’m going to stay in the background preparing for the completion of 2012′s journey and welcoming the journey of 2013. You see, “every ending has new beginnings,” and it’s time to put this one in effect.

Life!

What happens on Life’s Journey?

You pick up things along the way, you learn from those things.  Recognizing some things may be good, and some may be bad.  The point, let what you pick up, prepare you for the next journey.  You see journeys don’t end, they have no final destination.  Journeys are a process of progression.

2 page readings, 9 sections, 1 minute per day= The 90-Day Journey!  A journey, not alone, but one where I saw how I thought, how I took in what I was reading…

He Loves!

Move away from the fall, and know what it is to gain in Christ.

Look within, the spirit lives within.

Prayer is the doorway to communication with God.  Remember He hears you, and answers all things.  Never Stop Praying, and Don’t Give Up on God!  Just because you haven’t seen immediate, be persistent your answer is on the way.

Look at how you got through, don’t look at what you are going through.  We have the tools to fix the troubles that come our way.  Let’s remember what we’ve overcome, so that we continue to overcome.  To overcome is a past event, with a continuous effect.

Distractions will come to you, so go quietly before Him.

Let go of guilt.  Be patient in the process and know that what happened is what drew you closer to God.  Be happy about that!

Create wisely with your words.

My piece is important.  We all have different pieces to the puzzle, but we’ll always see the same picture.

He sees you as Good Enough.  See yourself through His eyes.  Never try to live up to the standards of others, but only the standard of Christ.

God is never in a rush, but He is always on time.  Trust Him!

Matthew 6:33: Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously and he will give you everything you need.

People will try to deny what you do, even when they’ve witnessed what you’ve done.  Remember your beliefs, remember why you do it.  Furthermore, remember who appointed you.  What they say doesn’t matter.  What He says, is the matter.

“But like ocean waves that splash with fresh blessing from a bottomless source, God’s grace keeps catching us, keeps picking us up, keeps moving us forward when we thought we’d fallen to far behind to catch up.  His grace is still here, still supplying, still amazing as ever.” ~LK

Remember the small things (Zechariah 4:10).

To serve is to save!

Patience is to know that you’re ready when it comes.

Be Thankful!

Ephesians 2:10: For we are God’s masterpiece.  He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

We are a Chosen Generation.  Face the gate and speak of God, for nothing that is countered will prevail.  His word has been here for thousands of years, His people the same.  Let us not be weary, but be willing to speak on His behalf.  He didn’t choose us for nothing.

Be a problem solver, not a problem.

People need what you’ve found!

Change your mind, change your life!

What we go through is only an entry way to get to the bigger picture, and that is to build the faith of another.

“You can never know where the seed you plant today may lead tomorrow.” ~LK

First Love, then Forgive!

“If you don’t want to stay stranded on the shoulder of the Christian road, offer the Spirit a clean car to drive.  And let Him take you for a joy ride to your chosen destination, keeping your tank filled with supreme purpose, your steps in perfect balance and alignment, your engine running on all cylinders.” ~LK

Discipline Develops!

Stewardship is not your ownership, but your management.

“We are free to say no to good opportunities in order to say yes to the best, to do a few things without feeling like we have to do everything.” ~Peg Rankin

“Led by the spirit you can move through life on a mission-and make it all the way.” ~LK

What you have, is what was given.  It isn’t yours to keep, but to give.  God gave, we too shall give.

“Cling between guts and glory.” ~LK

As you cling, remember the above.  Some thoughts from Z, others from the Bible, and quotes from the reading.  A 90-Day Journey complete, but so many others ahead.

Life is a journey, seeing things along the way.  Things that prepare us for the next phase.  Some journeys are long, and some quite short.  The lesson is to learn from each leg of the race.  Remembering there is a lesson.

These are questions the voice of Same Story Different Face  (SSDF) asked herself, until she realized her answer.  At 20 she would find out she was pregnant, and her life wouldn’t necessarily end; her life would begin with the birth of her son.

I had the opportunity to attend an event called- Conversations That Matter: on your journey as a single mother, held by the voice of SSDF, Adrianne Edwards.

As a blogger, I’m interested in Who, What & Why? people do what they do, furthermore I want to celebrate the positive, amazing things they offer our city, our world.

This day was more than about being a single mom, but about being a woman.  Whether we have given birth to a child, women must understand, there is something we must birth.  Yet, sometimes we don’t allow what is within to birth because we are caught up in our circumstances, and what others think.  With the lingering question- should we just, abort?

What we have to realize is that no matter the circumstance, what others think, we must not abort.  We must have faith in the seed.  Having faith in the seed is growing it, nurturing it and developing it to BECOME!

Saturday, with SSDF was empowering.  The story of now 26 year-old Adrianne Edwards was told.  It was told because before the age of 20, there was no vision, no hope.  Today, however there is vision and hope, not only for her life, but for that of her son.

What? 

A single mother and single mother advocate.  Not one who believes being a single mother is the way to go.  Yet, a single mother who knows she can overcome her current situation, who will overcome!

Why?

To give other single mothers hope.  An honest example of a struggle, but of success in the midst.  Showing, sharing and dropping the stigma of what “you” may think a single mother looks like.

Who?

Adrianne Edwards, not only who gave birth to her son, but who is giving birth to her vision, and hope to other single mothers (women) to give birth.
